Why Is Implant the Better Option?

One may ask, why get an “implant surgery” when you can just get a bridge. Surgery sounds like a big deal when it is actually not. There are numerous reasons why implant is a better choice than getting a bridge. In cases where the patient has lost more than one tooth, a long span bridge is required to fix this gap. So what’s not good about a long span bridge? The teeth on either side of the gap will have to support the pressure of the bridge, and ultimately breaking the bridge in the long term. Other consequences of this are 1. damaging the roots of your teeth, 2. having to get a root canal treatment, and 3. Loosing more teeth as a result. This can go on and on, until the only way to solve this problem is getting a plastic removable plate aka a denture.

For those people who has lost a lot of teeth to the point where wearing a plate is impossible, implants can be used to help tighten the loose plate when worn.
