It is highly advised that people moving into their mid 60s should take care of their teeth condition with the best of their abilities. The teeth should be in a healthy condition. This means you should feel comfortable in your daily lives; comfortable talking, laughing, and chewing food. This is because at some point, getting implants to save you may no longer be an option because as we all know, our health deteriorates as we get older. People with diabetes, heart disease, cerebrovascular diseases etc. will not be advised to get implants. Nobody wants to suffer from toothache and/or infection, while not being able to fix it without having to go through tough procedures to fix a simple problem. Trust me, the last thing you want is not being able to chew your favorite rib-eye steak in your 70s! I am writing this from first hand experience with my father. My father suffers from diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. As I watch him trying to chew his favorite food, I wished everyday that I should have done something back when I could; fix his missing front and back teeth, so at least he could enjoy his meals without suffering today.
Even if getting a dental treatment is always a second priority to other health-related treatments, I strongly advise all of you who still has the chance to get your teeth back into a healthy condition to do so before it is too late. Please don’t let your teeth stop you from the happiness of tasting your favorite dish!
